Two Together Railcard discount

With the Two Together Railcard you can get 1/3 off train tickets in Great Britain for £30 for a 1 year for you and the person you travel with. That is to say the Two Together Railcard costs £15 per person. It's also possible to buy a 3 year Railcard for £70 (instead of £90) and save more money for travelling by train.

Use the Two Together Railcard to travel everywhere across the United Kingdom and you will save 1/3 on Standard Class and First Class fares except before 9:30 Monday to Friday. Using this railcard, save money on travel during the whole year. This railcard is not just a card for couples: you can get one with a friend or one of the family.

Moreover having a Two Together Railcard allows you to get offers on days out, hotels and restaurants.

Are you eligible to get a Two Together Railcard? If you are older than 16 years old and two people travelling together, you are eligible for the Two Together Railcard.

How to buy a Two Together Railcard ?

You have three ways of buying a Two Together Railcard:

Online:

Go online on the Railcard website with a digital passport-style photos, one for each person named on the Railcard and a debit or credit card. Follow the instructions, then you will receive your Two Together Railcard by post (within 2-5 working days).

At the station:

Or go to a staffed station ticket office with a passport-size photo of you and the person travelling with you and the completed application forms (download it on the website or ask it at the station).

By phone:

Or by phone you can call the Railcards service on 0345 3000 250 (open from 07:00 to 22:00, except on Christmas Day). Note that you will also need to submit photos of you and the second named cardholder by email.

If you have bought Two Together Railcards at a station, you can register it online to make renewing it easier.

When the expiry date approaches you can easily renew your Two Together Railcard online: you just need to:

  • Fill in an application form
  • Take you existing Railcard
  • Two passport-size photos of each of the cardholders
  • Either a debit or credit card

How much will you save with a Two Together Railcard? Most of people buy a Two Together Railcard in order to receive better discounts on their rail tickets. But is it really attractive for travelling by train across UK? To ask this question we took examples of popular train journeys and compared the price of train tickets with a Two Together Railcard and without the Railcard. We also tried to calculate the number of return trips required to make a saving greater than the initial cost of the discount card. In the table below we can see that you can save money with a Two Together Railcard after on average 1.98 return trips.

Other Railcards available in the United Kingdom

If you want to travel at the lowest fares, many railcard discount and reduction are available to pay your train tickets cheapest and save even more money on your tickets. There are many different types of railcards available in United Kingdom:

Visitors to Britain can buy the Two Together Railcard, but they will need to provide a UK address to which the Railcard can be delivered. If you want to travel from the UK to Europe with Eurostar train services, your Two Together Railcard will not make you eligible for any discount.
